Originally aired on November 11, 1969, here's the second episode of this beloved children's show. Seems Oscar the Grouch (Caroll Spinney) has had enough and is leaving The Street, oh no! I love how awkward and totally unscripted the street scenes seem now :-) CLICK ON SHOW MORE FOR INFO AND LINKS!
Lots of repetition from the first episode and from within this episode (The Baker #2 and #3, Jazz Spies #3, E Imagination, Wanda the Witch, E for Egg).
Also look for some cute animal street scenes with Bob (Bob McGrath) and Gordon (Matt Robinson) feeding a squirrel and some chihuahua puppies, awwww.
Listen My Brother with a young Luther Vandross sings "You Gotta Learn", James Earl Jones recites the alphabet, and Mr. Hooper (Will Lee) tucks us all in by reading a story, "Gwendolyn, the Miracle Hen", written by Nancy Sherman, illustrated by Edward Sorel (of "The New Yorker" fame).
